Coach Calen Schmidt’s first season as head coach of the Auburn girls basketball program ended in the subdistrict round with a 69-27 loss to the tournament’s top seed in Fort Calhoun. The matchup with the Pioneers came after Auburn defeated Boys Town 58-21 in the first round of the tournament.
Aerial Franke paced the Bulldogs in their postseason blowout of Boys Town with 13 points on two-of-two shooting from the three point line. Addie Darnell added nine points, while the freshman duo of Emery Snodgrass and Grace Snyder had eight points apiece.
The Bulldog defense held Boys Town to five points in each of the first three quarters while averaging more than 16 points per period leading up to the fourth quarter, leading to a 37 point postseason win.
