The Thunderbirds boys basketball squad of Johnson County Central Schools hosted the Pawnee City Indians in a basketball game played on February 12. The Thunderbirds clipped the Indians 70-24.
The JCC boys controlled the scoring in all four quarters of the game. The Thunderbirds quickly scored early in the game to gain a 20-10 advantage. By the end of the first haf, the JCC boys stretched their lead to 31-17. The Thunderbirds hammered an additional 26 points to the boards in the third quarter, while defensively holding the Pawnee City boys at seven points. The JCC boys held Pawnee City scoreless in the fourth quarter while swishing another 13 points through the hoop to seal a 70-24 triumph.
Wes Swanson racked up 40 points for the night. Regan Thies totaled nine points. Trey Lubben scored six points. AJ Rautenbach added four points. Gabe Bernadt Wyatt Case and Cooper Jones contributed three points apiece. Ayden Cannon added two points.
