Tuesday morning, Feb. 10, Emma Hyde, Auburn High School senior, signed a letter of intent to play volleyball at Highland, Kan. Community College.
Hyde noted she chose to play volleyball at the collegiate level because she loves the sport. Hyde has played since third grade. She will be majoring in early childhood development. Hyde’s other school activities are Art Club, Future Business Leaders of America, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and track and field. She is a lifeguard and assists with children’s church.
As a Bulldog, in the East Central Nebraska Conference she achieved honorable mention in 2022 and 2023, and second team in 2024 and 2025. Hyde was All-State honorable mention in 2024.
“We’re proud of Emma on her hard work and accomplishments,” her parents indicated.
“We’re really excited for Emma to go to Highland. I think it’s going to be a really good fit for her, both athletically and academically. It has a great coaching staff and we believe she’ll fit in good there,” stated Kara Engles, Bulldog head volleyball coach.
In 2025, the Scotties finished 29-9 overall and 5-4 in the Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference.
