The Nemaha Natural Resources District board of directors held two public hearings and their regular monthly meeting on Thursday, February 12. The hearings concerned revisions to the rules and regulations for Recreation Areas and for the Groundwater Quantity Management Area.
The main change to Recreation Area Regulations was allowing payments by credit card for camping and park permits. This would be facilitated by posting a QR Code at the registration area. Another stipulation was that vehicles in the recreation areas must be legally registered. No comments were made at the public hearing and at the regular meeting, these revisions were passed.
In the regular meeting, the board also passed new campsite fees. Sites with electrical hookups increased from $16 to $20. The board decided to start charging $5 for tent/primitive camping.
