Two Auburn boys wrestling seniors will be competing in the 2026 NSAA Boys State Wrestling Championships in Omaha starting on Thursday, February 19 after finishing in the top four of their individual district brackets.
Logan Rowell will make his third trip to state in his senior season after claiming the individual district championship in the 215 pound division in Crete last Saturday. Rowell remains undefeated this season at 41-0 after four wins at districts. His first round opponent at state will be Fairbury’s Garrett Roelfs (31-17).
After falling just short of state the last two seasons, Crew Gulizia broke through to make his first trip to state wrestling with a fourth place finish in the 144 pound division. Gulizia received an early bye and picked up a win by fall before dropping his first match of the day. Gulizia would come back through with a win in the consolation semifinals before losing the third place match by an 18-15 decision. This win was his 100th career win, a big milestone to hit for the senior.
