Auburn Middle School Instrumentalists, Vocalists Present Winter Concert

THE INITIAL concert of the fifth grade band opened the Auburn Middle School winter concert Thursday night, Jan. 29. A Quarters Worth, Hot Cross Buns, Au Claire De la Lune, Easy Street, Merrily We Roll Along, Good King Wenceslas and Song of the Fiords were played.
Comprising the ensemble were: Freya Brown, Dakota Meyer, Leslie Nerison, Brekyn Parker, Kashlyn Riley, Isabella Rivera and Olivia Smith on flute; Ava Crotty, Crew Lopez, Peach Maahs, Claire Ockinga, Annabella Spindler, Anna Swanson, Lezleigh Webster and Atticus Worthey on clarinet; Aiden Hayes, Finley Jacobitz, Norah Schneider, Xander Summers, Brayden Walters, Brody Winters and Cy Zentner on alto saxophone; Shawn Anderson, Laney Bridges-Falk, Reed Davis, Casey Falk, Braxten Graham, Raegan Hemmingsen, Hailee Reiman and Ezekiel Smock on trumpet; Sophia Carlson, Jace Greene, Elias Jacobitz, Landon Mullins and Blaine Stanley on trombone; and percussionists Isaac Brook, Lillian Carpenter, Paxton Henrichs, Eva Hyde and Jaxson Knapp.

LYRIC LANE, the Auburn Middle School show choir, sang You Can’t Stop the Beat, Seize the Day, Lights and Holding Out for a Hero. Kataleah Bowland was soloist on the closing number.
Other student-vocalists are: Alexis Boyd, Sophie Judd, Reagan McMann, Fenix Green, Emoree Green, Bentley Kimpson, Graelyn Mangnall, Aubree Tanner, Madelynn Bingham, Huntley Stonebarger, Phineas Newman, Kayson Gogus, Charleigh Kaiser, Madeline Vinson, Emily Willis, Maggie Main, Aleah Domino, Jocelyn Mathews, Adelaide Lotter, Tulia Arnett, Brynn Crisler, Allianna Saunders, Cheveia Warren, Lilly Ackley, Ella Bridges-Falk, Blaine Kling, Alessa Gray, Aria Ryan, Ariana Neemeyer, Madison Baker, Sadie Jones, Natalie Parrish, Knox Vinson, Kaison Dillard and Merrick Sayler.
The vocalists also took part in the Beatrice Homestead Heroes Show Choir competition. Vocal Velocity,, the high school show choir, also participated.
Homeward Bound, Shine on Me and 4 Chords were presented by the middle school choir, who were pictured in the Nemaha Valley Observer earlier in the school year. Andrew Davis is choral director. Accompanist was Jaymi Victor.

 

MEGAFORCE, ANASAZI and Rock That Bach! were selections of the sixth grade band.
The students are: Aleah Domino, Easton Graf, Whitley Hutton, Vera Novak and Aria Ryan on flute; Bella Hawley, Maggie Main, Spencer Milke, Natalie Parrish and Alexa Vrtiska on clarinet; Tulia Arnett, Ben Jenek, Charleigh Kaiser, Quinn Maahs, D’Wayne Sardeson and Hadley Stanley on alto saxophone; Emma Volker on baritone saxophone; Natalie Parrish and Alexa Vrtiska on bass clarinet; Brynn Crisler, Fenix Green, Jase Morrow, Bladen Neal, Asher Perry and Clancy Winkelman on trumpet; Jaxson Davis, Rodney Kephart, Adelaide Lotter and Huntley Stonebarger on trombone; Paytin Summers on tuba; and Madi Baker, Jace Bures, Memphis Neumeister, Keegan Porterfield and Ariana Neemeyer on percussion. Ben Hanika is director of bands.
The seventh and eighth grade band concluded the night with Takeoff!, The Southern Dawn and Distant Thunder of the Sacred Forest. They were pictured in the newspaper earlier this school year.
