JCC’s Academic Decathlon Team Takes First at Regionals
The Johnson County Central Academic Decathlon team received first place at the regional competition. JCC is invited to participate at the state competition at University of Nebraska - Omaha on February 20-21.

JCC received first place as a team at the Regional Academic Decathlon competition held at Nebraska City on January 17. Johnson County Central’s Academic Decathlon team will compete in the state competition at the University of Nebraska at Omaha on Friday and Saturday, February 20-21.
Regional award placings for Johnson County Central’s students are as follows:
Madison VanLangingham – Alternate Scholastic: She had an outstanding day in her competitions as she received gold placings in Literature, Music, Science, Economics, Social Science and overall Alternate Scholastic; Silver placings in Art and Math.
Anthony Orozco – Alternate Honors: received bronze medals in Music and Math.
Wyatt Lueders – Regular Varsity: received silver placings in Music and Math; and Bronze in Art.
Aleciauna Young – Regular Varsity: was awarded a gold placing in Music; silver placings in Literature, Art, Social Science and Overall Varsity; bronze placings in Science, Math, and Economics.
Zeke Burki – Regular Scholastic: was recognized as the top scorer for Johnson County Central’s Academic Decathlon team. was awarded gold placings in Literature and Art; silver placings in Math, Social Science and Overall Scholastic.
Millie Gentert – Regular Scholastic: was awarded silver placings in Literature and Music; bronze placings in Science, Art and Math.
Saige Rother – Regular Honors: received a silver in Economics; bronze placings for Music and Social Science.
Wes Schmid – Regular Honors: received a silver medal in Science; and Bronze placings in Music and Economics.
