Johnson County Central’s wrestling teams delivered strong performances this weekend, with the girls dominating at Cedar Bluffs and the boys earning multiple medals at Raymond Central.
Girls Capture Two Titles at Cedar Bluffs
Haylee Trew (43-1) won the 100-pound championship, pinning three opponents before defeating Yutan’s Hayleigh Darling 11-4 in the finals. She earned 28 team points.
Alejandra Reyes (47-1) took second at 105 pounds, winning three matches by fall before falling 6-0 to Madelynn Bohnet of South Sioux City in the championship. She contributed 24 team points.
Boys Bring Home Three Medals from Raymond Central
Erik Prado (34-1) claimed gold at 113 pounds with two quick pins in the finals against Raymond Central’s Sean Shultz. He scored 24 team points.
Caden McDonald (28-5) placed third at 106 pounds, bouncing back from a semifinal loss to win bronze via medical forfeit. He added 18 team points.
Ezekiel Burki (30-14) earned bronze at 150 pounds, winning three consecutive consolation matches. He contributed 17 team points.
Aaryn Kaster placed sixth at 138 pounds with 9 team points.
