Harley Lubben has broken the school record set by Jamie Straube for career points in basketball, with 899 points. She broke the record with the 15 points scored against Tri County at home on Jan 22.

The JCC Lady Thunderbirds girls basketball team topped the HTRS Lady Titans in almost all categories as they defeated the HTRS girls 50-28 in action on the road January 27.
Although the HTRS girls jumped out to a 14-8 advantage by the end of the first quarter, that didn't stop the Lady Thunderbirds  as they quickly turned the scoring tables around and took control of the game 21-20 at halftime. The JCC girls defensively held HTRS to two points in the third quarter while the Lady Thunderbirds added another 14 points to their own score to stretch their lead 35-22. In the final quarter of play, the JCC girls outscored HTRS 15 to 6 to secure a 50-28 victory.
Overall, the JCC girls shot 42 percent from the field and 65 percent from the freethrow line against the HTRS girls, who shot 30 percent from the field and 25 percent from the freethrow line.
Harley Lubben topped the JCC girls in scoring with 11 points. Riley Wellensiek followed closely behind with 10 points. Ashley Beethe scored eight points in this game. Sophia Schmid helped out with seven points. Adree Case and Harley Reyes contributed six points each.
Overall, the JCC girls outrebounded HTRS 32 to 27. Beethe pulled down 10 rebounds for the night. Lubben helped out with four rebounds.  Wellensiek, Schmid and Molly Weber grabbed three rebounds each.
Schmid and Lubben each had three assists against the Lady Titans.
The Lady Thunderbirds accomplished 11 steals in this game; Lubben totaled three, Nevaeh Brown had two, and  Wellensiek, Schmid, Weber, Case, Reyes  and Beethe each contributed one steal.
