The Pioneer Conference boys basketball scene was shook up this past week as the #2 Eagles defeated top-seeded EMF, but fell to #3 Falls City Sacred Heart in the week leading up to the conference tournament.
Johnson-Brock hosted the EMF bobcats on Tuesday, uprooting the conference’s top seed by a score of 65-59. The Eagles came out firing, putting up 22 first-quarter points to jump out to an eight-point lead after one quarter. The Eagles’ lead shrunk to just one-point entering the fourth quarter, but Koehler would lead the Eagles to victory, scoring 32 points as the Eagles outscored EMF 24-19 in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
The celebration was short lived though as just two days later, the Eagles would suffer a 54-50 loss to the Sacred Heart Irish in Falls City.
