The Auburn Eagles Club was filled with food, football fans and community support as the Peru State College Football Booster Club hosted its annual wild game feed fundraiser on Sunday, February 1.
“This is something the community really looks forward to every year,” said Plattsmouth native, Bob Bowman, class of 1985 and former football team member. Bowman has been president of the Boosters for 3 years, involved for 18 years and estimates the event has been held for at least 25 years.
The long-running event benefits the Peru State College football team and has been a staple for boosters and supporters for more than 25 years. The fundraiser featured 20 to 25 potluck-style dishes, including a variety of wild game and fish donated and prepared by community members. One of the more unique offerings at this year’s feed was sandhill crane, which Bowman said was among the most exotic dishes served.
