Longs Creek Water Supply Project Items Accepted by Auburn BPW

Four components pertaining to the Longs Creek Water Supply project were approved Wednesday, Jan. 21 by the Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW).

A $130,971.06 contract to Philip Carkoski Construction and Trenching Inc. for the ultraviolet (UV) disinfection equipment installation. It included a $12,455 deduction towards two flow meters. The acceptance is contingent upon approval by the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy and Environment. With the deduction, it was the lowest of four bids obtained. The others were: $139,500; $154,000 and $162,000.

A $29,753 HOA proposal for the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) integration, part of the water plant UV upgrade.
