Nemaha County Commissioners Approve 2027-2030 Salaries of Elected Officials

A resolution setting salaries of Nemaha County elected officials covering the 2027-2030 term was approved Wednesday morning, Jan. 14.
Salaries of 2026 are as follows. They were established in January 2022.
Assessor, clerk, district court clerk and treasurer: $64,613.44.
Attorney and sheriff: $86,151.25.
Commissioners: $28,537.60.
Surveyor: $6,461.34.
2027 through 2030
Commissioners: $31,391.36 in 2027 and 2028; and Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers plus 1 percent in 2029 and 2030.
Clerk, register of deeds, election commissioner per state statute: $76,074.78; $79, 117.77; $82,282.48 and $85,573.78.
Treasurer, clerk of the district court and assessor: $71,074,78; $73,917.77; $76,874.48 and $79,949.46.
Assessor with additional duties of appraiser: $76,074.78; $79,117.77; $82,282.48 and $85,573.78.
Attorney and sheriff: $94,766.38; $98,557.03; $102,499.32 and $106,599.29.
Surveyor, part-time: $10,000; $10,400; $10.816 and $11.248.64.
Any elected county official named budget-marking authority shall receive an additional $2,000 annually.
At county expense, elected officials receive the employee’s portion of the county’s health and medical plans which is offered to all county employees. Elected officials also shall be enrolled in and receive the benefits of the county employees’ retirement system.
The salaries were established after considering and analyzing the responsibilities and duties of the various elected officials, the Nebraska Association of County Officials salary study and comparable salaries from other governmental sectors.
All county officials except District 2 commissioner will be on the 2026 ballot.
