Students, faculty and community members gathered at Peru State College’s Student Center on Martin Luther King Jr. Day for a unity-themed brunch that blended reflection, student scholarship and music rooted in the Civil Rights Movement.
Now in its fifth year, the annual event centered on compassion, service and shared responsibility — values deeply connected to the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and woven throughout the program.
In his opening remarks, newly installed Peru State College President Dr. Robert Mock encouraged attendees to look out for one another, reminding students that many struggles go unseen.
