“We are in dire need of a cook,” said Vicky McNealy, a member of the Southeast Nebraska Community Action Board of Directors, “so that Tecumseh area residents can continue to receive congregate meals as well as Meals on Wheels on a daily basis in the Tecumseh community.”
The former cook couldn’t continue in the position due to medical issues. During December, a substitute cook stepped up, but she didn’t have the desire to become a cook on a full-time basis.
The Tecumseh SENCA office is open Mondays and Tuesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in order to provide outreach services, such as assisting Johnson County residents with food or clothing, etc. On Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, a volunteers opens the Tecumseh center from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. for residents who wish to have a cup of coffee and play cards or games, as well as for diners wanting to eat at the center.
