The Bulldog girls basketball team split their two holiday tournament games in Sabetha, Kansas to improve to 2-6 on the season. After falling to Nemaha Central on day one of the tournament, the Bulldogs defeated Sabetha by double figures to enter the new year on a win.

Auburn wasn’t able to come back from a scoreless first quarter, though they only trailed 8-0 entering the second quarter. Auburn would tie Nemaha Central with nine points apiece in the second period, but the Thunder would come out of halftime and put up 23 points in the third quarter to put Auburn at a distance.

Auburn would get outscored 12-3 in the third, resulting in a 52-21 loss on day one of the tournament Score by Inning Against Nemaha Central Auburn 0-9-9-3–21 Nemaha Central 8-9-2312–52 Addie Darnell and Ariale Franke would lead the Bulldogs to their second win of the season, combining for 26 points in a 47-38 victory over the Bluejays.
