Nativity Collection Celebrates the Real Meaning of Christmas

Nativity Collection Celebrates the Real Meaning of Christmas
THIS LARGE NATIVITY SET, placed outside the inner entrance to the St. Andrew Catholic Church parish hall, was found in the basement of the priests’ house. Kathi Mercure appreciates the beauty of the figures and the stable.

Last Sunday, December 14, Kathi Mercure displayed 40 of her 50 nativities at the Christmas Boutique held at St. Andrew’s Parish Hall. Kathi’s favorite Nativity Scene is the one with the large stable. “It’s so beautiful and the figurines are so realistic,” she said. “Of course, none of the nativities can match where Jesus was born, which was a cave.”

Kathi recalled her trip to Jerusalem a few years ago. She added that today, you can see the cave where Jesus was born. There is a silver star and a church in the area.

“My trip to Jerusalem blossomed my love of Christmas as well as my collection of nativity sets,” admitted Kathi.
