A scoring rally in the fourth quarter was a key factor as the Thunderbirds of Johnson County Central Schools squeezed by the Palmyra Panthers boys basketball team 47-41 on JCC's home court December 16.
The the first quarter was a low scoring one with JCC trailing Palmyra by one point at 10-9. Danny Kongmanyvong ignited the Thunderbirds scoring efforts from the three point line, while Wes Swanson and Wyatt Case were able to move inside under the basket.
In the second quarter, Palmyra still controlled the scoring and stretched their lead 23-20 by the end of the half. Swanson, AJ Rautenbach, and Jack Waring were key scorers in this quarter.
