“One of my favorite memories from high school was winning State Cross country my junior year.  We had been working toward that goal for years prior and finally achieving it. It made all of our hard work worth it.” those are the words of Liston Crotty, Optimist Youth of the Month for December.  The Honor Roll Student has s a 3.956 great point average and has been inducted into the National Honor Society.
Crotty has been a member of the Cross Country team all four years of high school.  She was both conference and district champion for three straight seasons and named to the All-State team three times.  The four year letter winner medaled at the State Cross Country meet each of the four years and was named to the KMA all Nebraska Cross Country team.  She played midfielder in soccer her freshman year, being named offensive player of the year.  Her sophomore and junior years she participated in track where she qualified for State in two events her junior year winning a medal in the 4 x 400.
Crotty is a four year member of the Future Business Leaders of America.  She earned fourth place at the State Leadership Conference in introduction to social media strategy. She twice qualified for the National Conference, following her Sophomore year it was in Orlando, Florida and the next Summer Anaheim, California.  She has been a member of the Art Club and the Bulldog Way all four years of High School.  Crotty was a two year member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Band and Math and Science Club.
She has a long list of Volunteerism including, Catholic Social Services, Crafts with the Elderly and Meals on Wheels.  Crotty has been employed at the Auburn Municipal Pool during the Summers.
She is the daughter of Ryan and Janny Crotty of Auburn.  She plans to attend Northwest Missouri State, her major is undetermined at this time
“My favorite memory from High School is my Senior Year Cross Country Season.  In my Freshman through Junior Years we placed at State as a Team, even winning in 2024, but I’m more proud of this years team than any other Year.  We faced challenges that brought us closer, supported each other through tough workouts and most importantly, made the sport fun.  Looking back on all my seasons, my last one is the one filled with my happiest memories”
