“I feel really good,” said Emmarie Shullaw as Johnson County Central School's winner of the 2026 Name A Snowplow contest. It took two days to for Shullaw to come up with the name “Snow Worries” for the 2026 snow plow competition sponsored by the Nebraska Department of Transportation. Shullaw figures it is easy for a snowplow to pick up snow; therefore, there’s “Snow Worries”. Shullaw received a mini snowplow branded with the selected name; a celebratory educational visit from NDOT's snow warriors; and commemorative Name-a-Snowplow signs for home and school.
This was the third consecutive year for Johnson County Central Schools to have a Name A Snowplow winner. The 2025 winner was Carson Gregory with Avalanche and the 2024 winner was Ben Gottula with Thunder Plow.
This year's competition ended October 3, 2025. The NDOT says: Thanks a ton for helping name 16 of NDOT's snowplows for 2026. We loved seeing your creative ideas. If your name wasn’t picked this time, we hope you’ll try again next year!
