The Johnson County Central Lady Thunderbirds girls basketball squad dominated the Mead Lady Raiders 44-6 in scoring during the opening game of the season played on Mead’s basketball court Friday night.
The Lady Thunderbirds jumped out to a 25-0 lead by halftime. They added another 13 points in the third quarter while the Mead girls finally got on the board with four points. The JCC girls’ scoring efforts slowed down in the fourth quarter as they only put six points on the board.
Ashley Beethe tallied 13 points for the night. Sophia Schmid totaled nine points in the game. Harley Lubben added seven points. Charlyn Bobadilla and Molly Weber scored four points apiece. Neveah Brown contributed two points. Leighton Beethe and Harley Reyes added one point each.
