Brownville Historical Society (BHS) held its Annual Meeting Saturday evening, November 15, at the River Inn Resort in Brownville. The evening started with appetizers provided by the BHS Board Members prior to the dinner catered by the Wooden Spoon.
Following the dinner the business meeting was called to order by the Board of Directors’ President Chris Kennedy. The Agenda included Annual Reports submitted by the Board Officers for review and approval during the meeting. Elaine Knapp, Treasurer, provided the 2025 Financial Report. Colleen Nieland, Secretary provided the Minutes of last year’s annual meeting, and Chris Kennedy, President, provided the President’s report on all the activities of BHS during 2025. Steve Woerth, Creative District Manager, gave the highlights for Brownville’s Creative District, a Sub-Committee of the Historical Society. The reports presented were approved by a vote of the membership present.
The agenda also included renewal of Board Members with terms expiring the end of 2025 as follows: Ron Heskett, Emma Nieland, and Marty Peregoy Board Members – all were voted on and approved by the membership for additional three (3) year terms. One new Board Member, Gary Massa was also approved for a three (3) year term. Trustees with terms ending in 2025, and up for renewal were Melva Sage and Greg Smith. Both were approved for additional three (3) year terms. Jim Gerking would not be continuing as a Trustee. The Board was extremely grateful for all that Jim has done for BHS as a Trustee and in many other ways. He has been a great supporter and a tremendous asset to the Historical Society over the years. We look forward to seeing him at all of BHS’s future activities. The Board submitted Kellie Kennedy to fill Jim’s spot. Kellie was approved by vote of the members present and will serve a three (3) year term as well.
