Nemaha County 2025 4-H Acknowledgments

The 2025 successes of Nemaha County 4-H’ers were celebrated Sunday night, Nov. 2.
Divisions are based on their 4-H age as of Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2024. Clover Kids, 5 through 7 years. Junior, 8 through 10 years. Intermediate, 11 through 13 years. Senior, 14 through 18 years.
Outstanding Achievement Trophies
Displaying outstanding achievement, leadership and community service in their respective divisions were: Charlotte Metschke, Senior; Mia Sutton, Intermediate and Daniel Epler, Junior.
Diamond Clover Awards
Level 1, Amethyst: Daniel Epler, Nicodemus Markham, Thaddeus Markham, Michael Woerlen and Spencer Woerlen.
Level 2, Aquamarine: Willa Fritz, Johnathan Sutton, Mia Sutton, Rachel Sutton and Wesley Zentner.
Level 5, Emerald: Willa Fritz.
Level 6, Diamond: Jayden Adams and Caleb Hodges.
The program has six levels. Each requires different age-appropriate accomplishments which increase in quantity and difficulty on each level. Other levels are: Level 3, Ruby and Level 4, Sapphire.
Special Honors
Outstanding Junior Leader, Fred and Bernice Lockwood Award: Caleb Hodges. Recognizes youth showing outstanding leadership through service in their club and community as a junior leader. The Lockwoods were 4-H’ers, and longtime friends and supporters of the activity.
Character Counts! Award: Mia Sutton. Based on a short essay written by applicants on one or all of the six pillars of character: Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring and Citizenship. Once a 4-H’er achieves either honor, he or she is ineligible to apply again.
Achievement Applications
Clover Kids: August Bohling, Lucy Doeden, Samuel Epler, Sarabeth Epler, Carter Hinrichsen, Emzara Markham, Zacharia Markham, Carter Woerlen and Levi Zentner. Those completing record sheets in the Clover Kid booklet received a choice of a $15 gift card to an area business.
Junior, all medals: Daniel Epler, outdoor education, shooting sports and music. Oliver Davidson, horticulture, food and nutrition and LEGO building. Brooklyn Taylor, LEGO building, clothing, and food and nutrition. Rachel Sutton, poultry, visual arts and clothing. Johnathan Sutton, goat, aerospace and safety. Henry Doeden, LEGO building, shooting sports and safety. Michael Woerlen, beef. Spencer Woerlen, beef and clothing. Wesley Zentner, beef, citizenship and clothing.
Intermediate, pins: Mia Sutton, rabbit, citizenship, and food and nutrition. 
Senior, all pins unless noted: Jayden Adams, veterinary science and photography trophies and safety. Emily Bohling, arc welding and home environment trophies and sheep. Kale Davidson, electricity, LEGO building and shooting sports. Willa Fritz, horticulture, entomology and shooting sports. Noah Metschke, poultry, conservation and safety. Johnathan Bohling, sheep, shooting sports and human development. Charlotte Metschke, goat, poultry and home environment. Layla Miller, food and nutrition and home environment. Caleb Hodges, horticulture trophy, and swine and heritage.
