“I am very excited about the results of the election,” said Superintendent Riley Armes as a mail-in ballot election for a bond for improvements at Sterling Public Schools passed with an unofficial count of 305 yes votes and 261 no votes on Tuesday, November 4, according to County Election Commissioner Kathy Niveen.
“This is going to allow for much needed improvements to our facilities and provide incredible learning opportunities for our kids,” said Superintendent Armes. “It is very exciting to see that our voters are willing to make such a valuable investment in our school as well as our community.”
According to Armes, the next step for Sterling’s administration and Board of Education is to gather the building committee and work with the architectural team to develop a schedule for finalizing designs, collecting bids and developing a better timetable for the project.
