Gordon Anville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Anville of near Julian, recently graduated from the Nebraska State Patrol training center at Lincoln following a seven-week course of instruction. Anvill will be station in Omaha during his probation period.
Veterans Day was a holiday at the court house, but crews from Southeast Construction were hoping to complete the new walk and entry on the east side of that building before bad weather slows such work.
Dianne Moody, Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Moody of Lincoln, has been selected as a member of McDonald’s honor band, which is composed of two musicians from each state in the nation. The band will appear in concerts in Philadelphia and Washington, D.C., will march in a parade in New York City on Thanksgiving Day, and in the Rose Bowl parade in Pasadena, Calif., on New Year’s Day.

Teresa Breazile of Auburn and Tina Wehner of Sabetha, Kans., attended the 15th annual Nebraska Twins Convention held recently in Grand Island. The pair was elected co-secretary/treasurer of the association.
A 70’ long 16 ton Bronze passed through Auburn, Nebraska last Monday evening enroute to Branson, MO. The life-size bronze will be the featured piece of the new Veterans Memorial Museum in Branson. The sculpture began its trip from the Joseph Bronze Foundry in Joseph, Oregon on Thursday, Nov. 2 and arrived in Branson on Tuesday, Nov. 7.

The November 12, 2015 edition of the Nemaha County Herald included stories of Peru resident Everett Browning’s time serving in the Mediterranean Theater during WWII, of Nemaha County native George Grafton Jr.’s experiences as a WWII prisoner of war, of Jim Florence’s service in the Navy and how it led him to a career in energy with NPPD.
The Johnson-Brock Lady Eagles earned one of the two wild card berths into the Class D-1 state volleyball tournament starting Thursday, Nov. 12, in Lincoln. Johnson-Brock, fifth-seed, will play fourth-seed Howells-Dodge, 23-9, Nov. 12 at 3:30pm at Lincoln.
