Auburn’s Wishing Well Opens Offering Art, Calm and Community
GONZALEZ opened Auburn’s Wishing Well October 28 at 917 Central. The store provides a calm vibe and wares from Latin American culture.

When The Wishing Well opened its doors October 28, owner Julissa Gonzalez said her goal was simple: to create a calm, welcoming space where people could relax and feel at home.

“I wanted to give people a space where they can relax, where shopping isn’t stressful,” Gonzalez said. “Even if they don’t buy anything, they can sit, listen to music and just breathe for a little while.”

Located in downtown Auburn at 917 Central, The Wishing Well features handmade art, cultural gifts and colorful home decor. Most of the items are crafted in Mexico, including embroidered leather shoes, traditional clothing and bright Talavera pottery, which Gonzalez calls the star of the store. She plans to add items from other Latin American countries, including Guatemala and El Salvador.
