Peru Mayor Katy Novak was served with a recall petition on Oct. 22, 2025. The petition was filed by Philip J. Wemhoff of Peru, Nebraska. Novak was elected in November 2024.
Allegations and Comments
Wemhoff alleges that Novak engaged in the “misappropriate handling of city monies, including wages and unnecessary purchases; inappropriate communication with city council and city employees; and not having the community’s best interest.”
