Matkins and Vollman Reign as Sterling’s 2025 Homecoming Royalty

Sterling Public Schools celebrated its 2025 Homecoming this past week, October 13-17. A coronation ceremony announcing Jubilee Matkins and Dane Vollman as the Homecoming Queen and King was held Friday night, October 17 following the Sterling Jets 33-26 football triumph over the Parkview Christian Patriots.

Jubilee Matkins is the daughter of Jason and Kendra Matkins. She participates in volleyball, basketball, track, and cheer, lettering in all four. She serves as the Capatain of Sterling’s Cheer team. Matkins also partiicpates in One-Act, Play, Speech, FFA, FBLA, FCA, Choir, Quiz Bowl, and the Math Team. Matkins serves as the drum major, president of National Honor Society and president of Sterling’s Student Council.

Matkins is a proud member of the Nebraska City Church of Christ, serving as a teacher for kids’ bible class. In her free time, Jubilee loves to help out her friends and family, watch movies and play with her dog, Molly.
