The Bulldog girls will make a run at state cross country gold for the fourth time in four years after winning their third straight district title. The girls state champions will have a chance to defend last year’s state title, led by senior Liston Crotty in her final state meet after leading the Bulldogs at state each of her previous three years.
Crotty finished third at the District C-1 meet at Lake Maloney Golf Course in North Platte with a time of 20:42.70. Just behind her in sixth place was Hailey Janssen with a time of 21:37.80. Auburn had two other medalists in Hadley Mazzulla, who finished 14th, and Macy DeBuhr in 15th place.
The Auburn girls will compete for a second straight state title at Kearney Country Club on Friday, October 24.
