JCC Volleyball Takes Down Thayer Central in JCC Invitational Championship

Johnson County Central and Thayer Central were the only undefeated teams on the C2 volleyball schedule until Saturday afternoon when Johnson County Central’s volleyball fans witnessed an outstanding performance by all the players as the Lady Thunderbirds defeated Thayer Central’s Lady Titans in three seesaw scoring sets.

The Lady Thunderbirds led the way in the first set, however, Thayer Central continued to rally back with great volleys until JCC pulled out the 25-21 win. In the second set, Thayer Central started out with the scoring edge and the JCC girls just couldn’t get the lead back in their favor. Thayer Central won the second set 23-25. JCC fans were relieved when JCC once again controlled the scoring, pulling out a 25-15 victory in the third set..

Ashley Beethe tallied 17 digs and 15 digs in this game. Harley Lubben totaled 10 kills, 14 digs and two aces for the Lady Thunderbirds. Molly Weber added seven kills and four blocks against the Lady Titans.
