Lanes End, Has a New Beginning

Lanes End, Has a New Beginning
LANES END CELEBRATES with a ribbon cutting hosted by the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. Present to welcome the new business owners were; Auburn Chamber Board Member Angela Seidl, Lanes End Staff Cassie Brownmiller, Owner Jon Headid, Auburn City Council Member Rick Janssen, Owner Libby Headid, Lanes End Staff Mariah Lotter, Auburn Chamber Board Member Wendy Rowell and Auburn Chamber Executive Director Leslie Clark.

There is new energy at Lanes End Sports Bar and Grill, where the Auburn favorite has begun a new chapter under the ownership of Jon and Libby Headid of the Fremont area. Jon a retired law enforcement officer and Libby, who works in real estate, said they were drawn not only to the business but also to the community. Inside, familiar faces remain including Cassie Brownmiller and Mariah Lotter.

“We were impressed with the facility and Auburn itself,” Headid said during the ribbon-cutting Tuesday, September 16 held with the Auburn Chamber of Commerce. “This is the nicest facility we’ve seen and we are proud to be investing in the community. We really appreciate the support from the community and hope to see it continue and grow.”

The Headids say they plan to build on Lanes End traditions and bring in some fresh ideas. Live music events, game day viewing, daily specials, upscales bar offerings as well as upgraded bowling equipment, a pool table and skill games. Bowling leagues started in the last few weeks, but will be a great way for regulars and newcomers to connect.
