Rarely do Auburn and Johnson- Brock, two schools less than 13 miles away from each other face off in any sports, but the exception every year is in volleyball. In those meetings between the two Nemaha County volleyball teams the Lady Eagles have consistently bested the Bulldogs, winning 14 of the last 15 meetings between the teams, dating back to the 20122013 season, but for the first time since 2020, the Bulldogs have shaken up the status quo, defeating Johnson-Brock in four sets Thursday night.
Auburn entered the intracounty meeting with some momentum, flipping an 0-3 start to the season with five straight wins before facing the Lady Eagles. They started the week with a win over Tri County in straight sets at home.
Johnson-Brock won their first three games of the season, but lost three of their next five to drop to 5-3. They did enter the meeting with Auburn coming off a win over Pawnee City in four sets on Tuesday in Johnson, improving their home record to 2-1 before hosting the Bulldogs two days later.
