Cate Wycoff grew up in upstate New York and learned painting from her father. She decided to become a painter in the folk-art style of Grandma Moses, a prominent artist of the 20th century. Many corporations have used Wycoff’s art in licensed products including dolls, mugs, collectible plates and Christmas cards. She has created paintings commemorating special events.
Mary Lauber. For many years, Mary’s Emporium on Brownville’s Main Street was a treasure chest for anyone seeking original, recycled and vintage jewelry. She has always been spellbound by color, which led her to her putting together colorful sizes and shapes of beads and charms to design her own statement jewelry pieces. Lauber buys new beads and repurposes old necklaces to make her own jewelry creations. “This is what I am doing today and it is a genuine artistic outlet for me,” she noted.
