Southside Saloon in Auburn Has New Owner

Southside Saloon in Auburn Has New Owner

For ten years, Southside Saloon was owned by Tracy Betts and her husband Todd. However, Mike Gabelmann, one of Tracy’s friends and occassional employees, offered to take over. The change in ownership was finalized August 1st, and Gabelmann is excited to experience owning a business of his own.

Having bought the building with her husband in 2015, Betts has organized and participated in many various gatherings, including celebrations of life, poker runs, benefits, auctions and fundraisers. “It has been a pleasure working with family, friends and the community,” Betts said, “We thank you for all the love and support and congratulations to Mike, and good luck in your new chapter!”

“Not much will be changing, but I want to try and be open on Mondays in the future,” said Gabelmann. As for the rest of the bar, Gabelmann expects to add a few things to the menu, but for the most part believes the drink selection is broad enough to satisfy just about anyone who comes in. “The team is great and I plan to keep most of them on.”
