Ken Teten Kids Golf Clinic Another Success

Ken Teten Kids Golf Clinic Another Success
34 OF THE 39 children signed up for the Ken Teten Kids Golf Clinic were present for the group photo. Despite the heat, many attended the event from July 28 through August 1, and many of them showed what they learned at the Jr. Golf Tournament on Saturday, August 2.

39 signed up for the Ken Teten Kids Golf Clinic this year and, though the first half of the week was brutally hot, the week-long clinic saw a good turnout.

Open to ages 5 through 8th grade, the lessons were run by Grant Cole, Jim Flaherty and Ron Jones, who split the children up into three groups based on their ages. With plentiful water breaks taken, the golfers learned all the basics of the sport, including putting, chipping and pitching. They stuck to holes 1 and 9, as well as the putting practice green.

On the final day of the clinic, the children were given a chance to put their new skills to the test in a series of competitions. Overall, the clinic didn’t change much from years prior, but it still receives great support and interest from kids hoping to hone their swings and putts.
