International trade is a major thrust of the Secretary of State’s staff, Bob Evnen related in Auburn Wednesday, July 16.
Accompanied by Cindi Allen, deputy secretary of state, Evnen stopped in Auburn during a tour of Southeast Nebraska. They went to Nebraska City earlier in the day, and later visited Tecumseh and Beatrice.
Evnen stated he has led a number of trade missions. Those have included Bulgaria in eastern Europe; the United Arab Emirates and Jordan in the Middle East; Kenya in east Africa and Taiwan. Recently, the secretary of state returned from Hungary and Slovakia, the former at the invitation of the eastern European nation’s government.
