Auburn City Council Withholds Vote to Extend Home Occupation Permit for Johnny’s Tires

A resolution to consider a special exception permit for Councilman Johnny Curttright to continue operating his business, Johnny’s Tire & Battery LLC, to operate out of his home died before making it to a vote during the Monday, July 14 Auburn City Council regular meeting.

Curttright asked the rest of the council to approve him for the exception permit on a yearly basis until a building suitable building becomes available to purchase and move his business to.

In a letter to the planning commission, Curttright said he has been operating the business out of his garage at 2511 O Street full time since 2019 and part time since 2013 under a home occupation permit.
