Doug Glenn and his wife Cindy have owned and operated Glenn’s Corner Market since 1990. Now, after three and a half decades of providing Auburn with top-notch groceries, the Glenns’ have turned the business over to Patrick Miller and his wife Melissa.
Originally a Hinky Dinky Mart, the Glenn’s partnered with Jim Wehenkel and his wife to buy the building. Together they started J & D Corner Market, and eventually Doug and Cindy bought the Wehenkel’s out, changing the name to Glenn’s Corner Market. “We’ve had such a good time in Auburn,” Doug explained, “We’ve known some really great customers and really great employee crews over the years.”
Doug noted that he’d been looking to retire for two or three years, and said that now that he’s found someone to buy the business, he and his wife will move to a lake house they own in Lincoln. “There have been so many good stories to come from owning this business,” Doug said, “But it’s really a young person’s game.” So, after looking for buyers, Doug finally found someone to take over and finalized the change on July 9.
