Several major improvements were made at the Legion baseball field this spring in order to compete and host the Class C Seniors Area Tournament scheduled to be played here July 25-29.
Both dugouts were completely renovated with new concrete, structure, fencing, padding, benches, wind screens with logos and bat/ball holders. Ondeck circles were established, the old backstop was replaced with new padding. Bleachers and other field painting are redone annually by the Legion members.
The majority of the labor was provided by Kudu Lawn & Landscape staff as well as Moaner duPreez. Erik Hawley, Ben Swanson, Coach Kole Kleespies and several legion ballplayers were significant contributors as well. Bryson Bloedorn of Bloedorn Built Welding provided free services for the fabrication of posts.
