The Auburn Airstream Juniors dropped both of their games in the Class B Juniors Area 2 Tournament in Plattsmouth over the weekend. Auburn earned the #4 seed in the tournament and played #3 Nebraska City on Friday, where they came up empty in an 8-0 loss.
The losses marked the end of the Juniors’ season at a 7-13 record. The team started 3-0 in May, but faced some tough competition in July, dropping their final five outings.
The bracket sent Auburn to face #1 Blair in the next round, where they built a 5-1 lead after three innings, but errors plagued the team as Blair put up 10 runs in a span of four innings to boot Auburn from the tournament.
