United States’ 249th Birthday Saluted at Brownville Freedom Day
MEMBERS OF the Brownville and Nemaha United Methodist churches salute the United States on the 249th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.

Josh Daniels of Grant City, Mo., noted that the Friday, July 4, Brownville Freedom Day celebration reminds everyone a little bit of how Independence Day started 249 years ago.

“I don’t think it started any better than it did,” Daniels stated while beginning the patriotic program at Boettner Park reciting the opening of the Declaration of Independence.

He continued with the 13 original colonies declaring their independence from the United Kingdom, the world went from autocracies to a nation with government of, by and for the people.
