A July 4th win over Nebraska City in which three First National Bank of Johnson players blasted home runs was a bright spot in an otherwise tough week for the Auburn Legion Seniors.
The team opened the first week of July with a 8-4 loss to Crete before coming up one run short against Waverly on July 2nd. After the team’s win over Nebraska City, Lincoln Christian ended Auburn’s holiday weekend with a 7-4 loss, dropping the team down to 12-9 on the season.
