Sterling Board of Ed Moving Forward with School Improvement Project

During a special meeting on June 25, the Sterling Board of Education voted 5-1 to sign a letter of agreement with CMBA Architects of Grand Island to provide Sterling Public Schools with a 21st century learning environment. Board member Rick Vollman voted no on this matter.

This new learning environment would include a new elementary addition consisting of classrooms, kitchen and cafeteria space; administration and a new entrance; along with renovations to the existing building to expand the commons space, add ADA compliant restrooms and locker rooms.

In a public comment period, a resident from Palmyra wanted to know how the Sterling Board of Education arrived at their decision to move forward with this new elementary addition.
