About 50 persons came to the Brownville Concert Hall late Friday afternoon, June 20, to hear six harpists play as the 2025 Brownville Harp Retreat ended.
Performing were: Susan Hansen and Ariana Musgrave, both of Lincoln; Elyse Jorgensen and Katie Wychulis, both of Omaha; Julie Smith Phillips, Auburn native now living in San Diego and Denise Koch of Columbus, Neb. Hansen and Koch were second year participants.
Jorgensen recently graduated from Brigham Young University and will be teaching harp in Nebraska. Koch will be a junior at Columbus, Neb. High School. Musgrave will be entering her sophomore year at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL). Phillips is principal harpist with the San Diego Symphony. Wychulis was lead assistant at the retreat. She teaches at UNL and Creighton University. Wychulis is principal harpist with the Lincoln and Sioux City symphony orchestras and the Boulder, Colo. Philharmonic.
