Nemaha County Commissioners Apprised on Apace Auburn Upgrades

Estimated cost of renovating the Auburn Apace facility is $2.5 million, the Nemaha County Commissioners were informed Wednesday morning, June 18.

Matt Kasik, Apace CEO, noted that entails the interior and exterior. Fundraising is underway, he continued. The CEO stated District 1 Sen. Robert Hallstrom of Syracuse did a walk-through of the facility in May. District 2 Commissioner Bryan Mellage of Auburn inquired about the remodeling.

Kasik replied he was unsure whether the entire building can be updated in a year. It includes a day center and administrative offices. The CEO stated Apace would like to convert unused space in Auburn into a Kernel Krazy popcorn production facility. He said the popcorn is popped weekly at the Tecumseh location.
