Small Water Systems Research Includes Auburn Board of Public Works

The Auburn Board of Public Works (BPW) water department is part of research on issues in treating iron and manganese in small water systems.

Involved are Kaycie Lane and Semiha Salami. Lane is an assistant professor of practice in the civil and environmental engineering department at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Salami is an economics major at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, N.Y. entering her junior year.

Friday morning, June 20, they toured the BPW water treatment plant. Guiding the professor and student were Kiefer Coatney and Scott Sherman, BPW water and wastewater operators.
