Two bronze medals, two silvers, and one gold medal were earned by Johnson-Brock track and field athletes at the NSAA Class C State Track and Field Championships at Omaha Burke High School on Friday, May 23 and Saturday, May 25.

Three Lady Eagle seniors also competed for Johnson-Brock for the final time just days after walking across the stage at their commencement ceremony, including Hallee Nickels, who topped the medal podium after winning the girls discus throw with a throw of 131 feet, three inches.

After fouling her first attempt, Nickels got on the board at just over 120 feet, before tossing the winning throw on her third attempt. The second place throw from Malcom’s Mikiah Witzel still fell nearly nine feet short of Nickels’s championship throw, which was a personal best.
