Darnell Breaks State Meet Hurdles Record to Repeat Title; Rowell Throws a Personal Best in Discus to Make Podium

Auburn Junior Addie Darnell added two more medals and a state meet record to her growing list of accomplishments at the Class B State Track & Field meet last week, giving Auburn an 11th place finish at state.

Darnell finished second in the 100 meter hurdles preliminary race on Wednesday, May 21 at Omaha Burke High School. The junior shaved her time down to 14.54 seconds for the finals the next day, but still finished second by a tenth of a second to earn a silver medal.

Less than two hours later, Darnell would defend her state title in the 300 meter hurdles from the previous season, setting a new Class B state meet record with a time of 43.68 for her second straight gold medal in the event.
