A walk-off hit by Wayne in the District C-5 Final advanced the Blue Devils to the NSAA Class C State Baseball Championships, while the Bulldogs’ season was ended one win short of state.
The Bulldogs defeated #3 Holdrege in the first round of the district tournament and had a one run lead on the Blue Devils in the final, but ultimately finished as the district runner-up.
The district runner-up Bulldogs finished the season 13-11, working their way into the Class C ratings in both daily papers by district play.
