RICHARD H. HAUBERG

1936-2024

Richard H. Hauberg, age 88 of Talmage, NE passed away on Sunday, January 28, 2024 at the Ambassador in Nebraska City, NE.

He was born on January 13, 1936 in Nebraska City, NE; the son of Harry Martin and Beulah Louise (Bebout) Hauberg. Rich graduated from the Talmage High School with the Class of 1954.

Richard married Elaine Pauline Krugman on November 18, 1962 in O’Neill, NE. He began farming with his father upon graduation from high school and later began his construction career building the nuclear plant at Brownville, NE. He moved on to other projects, quickly becoming a manager of various construction projects, which sent him across the United States.

He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and was a board member of Otoe County Respite. He served in the Army National Guard and was a member of the Talmage American Legion where he assisted with multiple honor guards for military funerals.

He is survived by his wife Elaine Hauberg of Talmage, NE; children: Beth (Terry) Panko of Cook, NE, Amy (Dan) Welzenbach of Lenexa, KS and Kyle (Alisa) Hauberg of Rochester, MI, grandchildren: Ryan Panko (Lyndee Wenzel and her son Noah Wenzl-Vermeer), Isabelle Welzenbach, Emma, Alaina, Nicholas and Ellery Hauberg; brother-in-law Keith (Verna) Krugman of Fremont, CA, sister-in-law Donna Krugman of Kansas City, KS; other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife’s parents Paul and Elva Krugman, and a brother-inlaw Merle Krugman.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Faith Lutheran Church in Talmage, NE. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Talmage, NE. Military Honors will be conducted by the Nebraska Army National Guard Funeral Honors Detail and the Talmage American Legion Post #246.

The family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 2 at Gude Mortuary in Nebr. City.
